    You'll learn about the art and history of block printing before having a chance to create your own hand printed masterpiece.

  • One-day Introduction to Block Print Workshop

    Our Print your own Product workshop is your perfect introduction to Bagru and the art of hand block printing. You’ll learn everything that you need to know to craft your own hand printed tote-bag, scarf bandana or rug.

     

    The day begins with walking Bagru’s fabled “Fields of Color”. Here countless yards of hand printed fabric are each day left to dry in the Rajasthan sun.

     

    Next our multi-generational team of artisans and educators will explain the tools and techniques of the block print process.

     

    Finally you can choose a product to print. We’ll give you the time, tools, advice and encouragement needed for you to craft your own masterpiece.

     

    We like to keep group sizes small to give you the best possible experience. We can become fully booked in peak season so please book soon to avoid dissapointment.

  • Two-day Bagru Print and Dye Deep Dive

    Looking to dive deeper into the world of traditional Indian textiles? Our two-day deep dive is for you.

     

    Over two consecutive days you’ll learn all the skills taught in the one-day workshop as well as traditional dyeing methods and Bagru’s famed dabu resist printing.

     

    You’ll have the chance to work with traditional natural inks and be shown how to combine dabu resist printing with natural indigo and kassis dyes to produce truly authentic and original designs on your products of choice.

     

    We’ll dive deeper into the fabric preparation process by teaching you how mordants set a fabric’s base color as well as demonstrating the boiling process that is critical to setting natural dyes.

     

    Over the course of two days you’ll have the chance to print four different products giving you the opportunity to deeply explore the traditional techniques and your own creativity.
