We Bring Your Print To Life

At Studio Bagru, we bring together the design in your mind with the talent of the artisans we work with. Whether you’re a veteran designer or just getting started, we can assist you through all the stages of your order.

    We Listen

From colors to designs, dabu and traditional prints – we listen to what you want. In the custom design process, there is no opinion that matters more than yours. Want to change a color pigment? Add your logo to your scarf? Working on a tight schedule? We take care of our clients and any of their needs.

    We Make it Simple

The printers we work with are well-versed in understanding what you want to see in a finished product.

Our sampling process is 4-6 weeks from handoff of approved tech pack.

We tailor our prints to each customer. To begin the custom design process you can contact us and tell us what you have in mind. From here, the magic happens.

Together we can discuss what type of design you are thinking about. A geometric design on a scarf? A contemporary-styled table runner? A colorful quilt? The options are endless, from patterns to colors, and we are here to help.

Once the details for of your print are finalized, we work together to create a template for the design of your hand-carved block.

Once the block design is finalized, we print it out to-scale and hand-deliver it to the block-makers we work with. In 5-7 days your design is carved into sagwan, sheesham, or local rohida wood.

Before long, the design in your mind is printed onto fabric, and your textile is born.

The final touches – cutting, stitching, rolling and hemming. Lastly, a thorough quality check before we ship your product.

Any consumer purchasing a Studio Bagru product will discover its origins of production. We value honesty. We’re open about the materials we use, where they come from, who made them and how our products are made. We listen. Any questions you have – from technical aspects of the printing process, to pricing – we are happy to openly talk with you.

Bagru, like many suburban villages in India, is at a critical point in development. Hand-block printing is a dying art. We aim to share the beauty of this Rajasthani tradition with the world – taking part in a renaissance of block printing. We are deliberate in choosing our manufacturing partners. We assess professionalism, working conditions, wages, and quality in each of our suppliers. Ultimately we hope to foster entrepreneurial growth in artisan communities to grow the industry.

We’re here to help you. Communicating across language barriers, time zones and borders can be exhausting. We understand people as much as we do our textiles. As such, our team takes pride in our customer relations. Late-night calls are part of our routine; we’re always reachable via email, and most of all, we’re eager to sit down, have a cup of chai and hear your story.
